Reaching for the Key

For my "Alice Project." This is Alice reaching up to try to get the key to the garden. Victorian influence was used for the clothing.

About four hours in Illustrator. I had some issues with the blend used for the key, and I was working on it late so I started to get tired.

Advanced critique desired. This is part of a book project to be sold and presented as part of my portfolio. The book will have black and white pages and a colour cover. Please let me know if you think any of the proportions are awkward. (the background is for display here only)
