Rookie Locker Room

Part of the "rookie" series of storyboards. Project was completed for Storyboarding 1. Minor photo reference used to create authentic football uniforms. Photo reference used for locker room, some reference used for figure positions. Some photo reference also used for football equipment (worn under uniform). I liked the feel the lighting effect gave to this one, it's something I probably would have had a tough time duplicating by hand. The rookie is all the way in the back in this one, in case you couldn't find him.
Initial drawing done with fineliner marker, some larger areas of black filled in with a thicker marker.

story: The football team has won their game, the quarterback is being congratulated. News media is on the field talking to the team, enthusiastic fans are seen in the stands. The quarterback leaves the field, heading to the locker room. Isolated from the other players is the rookie, who's feeling a little down. The quarterback approaches the rookie, and thanks him for the final pass, along the lines of: "without you I couldn't have won the game." The rookie now feels like he's "king of the field." Budweiser is noted as "king of beers."
